Picking up where Joseph Pilates left off…

I have always said this in the studio to my clients when they ask me about my methodology of training. Joseph Pilates was a genius, he was an independent thinker and he was a true believer in movement and how it heals the body. His apparatus was like none other and it remains the way he designed most pieces with only few additions to his original pieces for training the body with his method, which he called Contrology. I changed the studio name to Krystallogy as play on words to his method…. where he left off and where I began.

And so, my method is based upon all of Jospeh Pilates principles of training, his pieces of brilliant apparatus, and his principles and beliefs of training. Except, he would be the first, in my opinion, to advise his own practitioner to change his method, add to it and make it their own. His spirit was one of growth, change, evolution and constant movement so to speak.

In keeping with Joseph Pilates spirit, I cherish his foundational principles, I’ve studied the man himself and I’ve created my own method of training… one that is based on classical pilates and using all my education to cultivate healthy and ever progressing bodies. I’ve used modern principles of biomechanics, physiology, and cutting edge apparatus to attain my goals as a teacher in order to help every student who comes to my studio. In some ways, I practice Pilates with an edge. In other ways, you can say that I practice Pilates with purity and a deep understanding of the creator of this method. So in the end, you can say I’m picking up where Joseph pilates left off! I think he would be proud!
